  Do You Tend To Give People The Benefit of the Doubt Or Do You Mostly Judge?

  by nature, are you a person that typically makes a judgment on your gut feeling or do you feel that you don't have all the facts to judge against someone?

  I admit it. I used to give the benefit of the doubt freely and to all. It made it easy for people to take advantage of and abuse my kindness. Fool me once shame on you......

  I've chosen to err on the side of discretion. I keep it close to the belt. Me and mine are too precious to risk. While I do not automatically attribute insincerity of action to the new people I meet, neither do I accept on face value. Genuine people can't help but be genuine, and do not mind earning the friendship and trust of others. They are givers rather than takers. Those with ulterior motives or agendas however, are always looking for a freebie, a hand out, blind acceptance. While there may be a wonderful individual somewhere behind it all, I apply my efforts elswhere.

  A lot can be gleaned from the written words of others. Here on the board, attitudes, prejudices, strengths and vulnurabilities are easily read between the lines of a members posts. Its not hard to see if they are full of compassion, or just full of themselves.

  My break from the Org. has forced me to realize that my time on this rock is finite. Thus I have no time to waste on those who might after a time "grow on me". I know who I like and I like who I know.

  The overall acceptance of my idea has lifted my soul. To make it work though will require close interaction between member apostates. We must assemble.Plans must be made so that we can all get together 2 to 3 times a year in various locations and learn the ways of Klingon honor. We can sing Klingon drinking songs, engage in Klingon ritual and worship Fek'Lahr. We can slaughter sanctified Targs and drink Klingon blood wine. We can all wear lapel tags with our Klingon names on them. The ladies can stand in line to use the rest rooms.

  We could translate earthly religious texts into Klingon and use these texts to advance our spirituality. I could publish books on how to be a good Klingon. We could arrange to tell the world how to become Klingon. We could knock on every door, ring every bell...whoa! This is getting scary!

  Seems like even an innocent idea, taken to extremes, can be easily transformed into a cult.

  i experienced a situation not to long ago and was left wondering.

  if you that you rathers would you rather have an insincere apology or none at all?

  i find myself left with a kinda sick pissed-off feeling when i get a "i'm sorry but....this is why blah blah blah" what do you think??

  I try to make a point of acting and speaking in a way as to minimize the need to make apologies. When the need arises that old Thunder must eat some crow, my words are truly sincere. Trouble is some folks put their foot in their mouth so often that their apologies become by rote and empty. Being forgiven for their transgressions, large or small for so long has given them the false belief that their words are taken at face value.

  I don't take offense easily, nor do take any $&!# from anyone. People being people though sometimes I get rubbed the wrong way. I would rather not have to be apologized to, but when the situation arises, I would rather have no apology than an insincere one.

  First off, men are pigs, we can't help it but we can be trained.

  Nagging will get you nowhere. Trust me on that one. Sheila and I share in the houshold duties, our goal being that of keeping up with things so that housework doesn't get overwhelming. We like to keep things neat, but don't do the OCD thing. Sheila doesn't want me to wear my shoes in the house, I don't like to go barefoot. So she got me a pair of slip on shoes just to wear when I'm home.

  When she wants me to do something that I might not be to enthusiastic about doing, instead of nagging, she does her little pout thing. It melts my heart and usually motivates me to make it so.

  Perhaps if you would explain to your hubby how his co-operation would make your life easier and some of the benefits of having a happy wife, he might make an effort to oblige you your requests. To be honest, ,I think he may have become complacetn and a bit guilty of taking you for granted. Talk to him logicaly, not emotionaly. He will respond better to reason that ranting.

  Scuba Diving in Cozumel

  last week megadude, roo and i went scuba diving in cozumel.

  navigator joined us on the last day taking a break from his cruise.

  we enjoyed it so much so i thought i would share just a little of it with you.

  i have my reasons for not saying much on this thread and i really think the warning was put out there and it is up to you to trust jes,,,,,,,,someone you have known a long damn time, or someone who has already been deceptive.

  i don't want to say anymore,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, my reasons are very important to me and there may be some that may want to pm me about this , if i feel i can trust them , i will answer questions.

  i will not answer some questions on this thread to protect a poster here whom i dont want to hurt , she is a sweet lady and he knows her well, i don't think she knows he is even on this forum.. you all know me,,,,,,,,,,, you know jes,,,,,,,,,,there is more to it than you think.

  Is Having Kids Worth It?

  ok, i'm a single female in her early 30s looking for someone to settle down with.

  i'd like to have kids, but the trouble with dating guys who are over 30 is that by now most have a kid and/or have decided they don't want any/more.

  so i am getting faced with the dilemma of maybe finding that someone special, but he may not want to have kids.

  Prisca, children are a blessing. To have the opportunity to bring forth a life into the world, teach to it all that you find worthwile and special, to see them go from needing your every attention just to survive, to standing alone sure in their own place in the world and proud of their abilities and talents, is a joy all should have the chance to experience.

  The benefits and joys far outweigh the risks. A job well done brings a sense of pride well deserved and an undeniable need to share those joys with others.

  I have actually of late been pondeering this very question. With my son in the Marines boot camp and all that is going on in the world, I wish I knew how to address the creator/ higher power/ God. I also have wanted to express my appreciation for new found friends and ask that some one more powerful than I would look over them for me. I mean when a friend is hurting and I'm hundreds of miles away, who do I make suplications to on their behalf?

  For the sake of simplicity, I have chosen refer to my percieved diety as my "heavenly father". Whether he is there, listening, cares, or does anything in response to my prayers, I will never know. I've had a"god" shoved down my throat and for years I prayed to him to no avail. In fact all I ever prayed for was taken from me and "his" chosen people proved to be dispicable liars.

  I guess I would say that my prayers ar made in an attempt to console myself into thinking that there is help beyond my own power to protect and comfort those dear to me. So I will continue, not knowing to whom I pray nor the proper way.
